Project 3 Restoration Reflection Journal

This is Project 3 Restoration. It  was mainly about restoring a picture that was completely destroy and fixing it till it was the way how it was at the begging. I choose to pick a picture of my Grandfather from my father side that it was old and type destroy. It was from 1977, black and white. And it was only him. What I did first was Scan it and then past it to my computer, then I open Adobe Photoshop 6CS the software that I am currently using to do this project and place the picture in it. After That I  started fixing the background with the Spot Healing Brush, and the suit of my grandfather with it too. then I used to the Healing Brush to try to keep all the details of that original picture and not loss any. As  well I used other tools like the Patch Tool and Clone Stamp for other things.

The main Objective of this Project was to learn how to restorate an old picture or any other type of picture that we want to fix. And also to get to using the tools in  Adobe Photoshop Tools and getting well know with the software. This is so relevant to Visual Design since we are learning to Visualize thing and learning what to do next when comes to projects like this. I definitely see myself using this tools in the future on labs or Projects or Outside things.

This is relates to Web Design because its talking about creativity and being a creative person and that is what you need to have in order to be a person that likes Wed Design Or Visual Design. Its all about getting inspire and creative and visualizing things.   

Lab 6 Editting Tools Reflection Journal

This is Lab 6 Editing Tools. In this lab we had to used 4 images that were giving to us and later on fix them with the tools that are in Adobe Photoshop 6CS, the software that we are currently using right now. In the first image I had to get rid of the sprinkler heads and of the bottom left of the picture. Using the Clone tool and  Spot Healing Brush tool. On the second image I had to erase the initials 'DJ' from the rocks with the Healing Brush and Patch Tool to erase the chips and holes on the sides of the rocks. For the third picture I had erase the horizontal wrinkles of this men's forehead with the Healing Brush, erase the wrinkles under his eyes with the Patch Tool. And with the same tool erase the wrinkle inside the glasses under the right eye, and inside and outside the glasses on the left eye. Lastly with the last picture I had to Replace the color of the top of the window with a different one, then use the Blur Tool to blur the left side of the window and the Sharpen Tool to the other side of the window. Then the Smudge Tool to mess up the tiles of the picture.

The objective of this lab was to learn how to fix pictures by using these tools. Whenever we feel like we don't like how something looks in a picture now we have to option to fix it. This is so relate to Visual Design since its all about finding new ways to fix things and work with creativity in our minds. I definitely see myself working with theses tools in the future with project, labs etc. And also outside school work since I like taking a lot of pictures. But lastly this is all I did and learned from Lab 6 editing Tools.
   

Hw Reflection Journal 11/16/15

My Present grade today in Jupiter Grades in my Visual Design class is 78.1%. My Best grade so far in this second marking period is 82% in my Earth Science Class. My Worst performance grade is in Visual Design, which I'm not very proud about it. What I'm Missing in this class is to complete a Homework called Creativity but its too late to do. And a Reflection Journal on a Trip I had, which I am going to complete as soon as possible. How I can do better is why Trying to summit all my work on time and paying more close attention.   

Lab 5 Filters Reflection Journal

This is Lab 5 and it was mainly about Filters. In this lab we were suppose to work with different Filters that's affect the change of a picture. What I did first was pick 2 different pictures. The first one was more about capturing a person's face, so I use a selfie picture of my little sister and the other picture was of my choice since it really didn't matter to capture anything. Later on I made 2 rows where in each row there was going to be 3 pictures. In the first row it was the first picture and continuing with others was the second picture duplicated 4 times making it 5. Using Adobe Photoshop 6CS as the software I am currently using to complete this lab.

The objective of this lab was mainly about using different lifters. Since once I had my pictures set I started working with the first one. In the first picture I apply Liquefy as a filter to the picture. It allow me to change the face of a person by messing up with  it . In the other 5 I apply other filters but that only change the view of how the original looked like. This is so relevant to Wed Design since we are Design the way of how pictures look. I see myself working with this tools in the future whenever I feel like changing the way a picture looks.

      

HW Notetaking

 How I take notes it pretty much by writing down the important information that I need to know in order to get my work done. In Visual Design unlike my other classes we sometimes take notes, not always. Since sometimes the things we need to do gets handed in to us in paper. However sometimes the things we need to do in order to get the work done its explain to us, that is when we got to take notes. When I take notes for Visual Design is pretty simple, I only write important or the things that are new to me. I write in a step by step from, so I know what to do first and what to do last so there is no confusion. This is pretty much how I take notes, its just my way on how I can understand and get my work done.

Pop Art Reflection Questions

Andy Warhol was an American artist as well someone who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. Warhol’s work was a relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. I would not buy Andy Warhol’s artwork to be honest because it just not my type of art. But don’t get me wrong, his work it’s really interesting and who doesn’t like pop art. His artwork reminds me a lot of Marilyn Monroe, since he got well known for that painting he did of her after she die. The association was type pleasant because Marilyn is a beautiful famous woman and the painting he did of her is one of my favorites that a like and it just captured this picture of her that’s makes it so fun and interesting.

Critics today have broken down high and low culture and an interest in popular culture,

which encompasses such diverse media as comic books, television, and the Internet. Now a Informed opinion is supported by facts while uninformed opinion is not this is how to tell the difference between them. As well as Taste, is a personal preference or liking and Bias, is a preference or an inclination, especially one that inhibits impartial judgment. The formal aspects Andy Warhol used on his portraits were more like shape and color. But in a different ways unlike others artist would use it. Because he would capture someone and make it appear in different colors multiply times. And as well he would not make only portraits from photographs; he would also shot himself and use photographs from the media of other people. Portraits are important to us because it captured memories, someone that you love and would not look the same in 2 or 5 years, and it just expresses a lot of creativity. Artists have painted portraits throughout the ages to represent a person, in which the face is the main theme.

How I felt when making a Warhol portrait about myself was really cool, and fun because

I liked how I would turn out looking at the end of project. But at the same time hard and

stressful when doing the work. How I made my portrait was by using photo booth to take

my picture of myself and then opening it in Adobe Photoshop 6CS. Using the Quick

Selection Tool to select only myself and not the background. Then the Move tool to move the picture around after duplicating it 3 times and then using the Bucket tool to apply different color on picture of me to combine with the different colors that I apply in the background. In the future I can see myself using a lot to the Quick Selection tool now that I can manage it pretty well. This is My Warhol Portrait Project.

 

Image Adjustments Lab Reflection Journal

This is was Lab 3 Image Adjustments. Basically in this lab we had to download this image of this dog. Which in my opinion she was adorable. Once we download the file we had to save it and upload it Adobe Photoshop 6CS , the software we are using to work with. The the task was to crop the dog out using the tools given to us in Adobe Photoshop 6CS. But this was no easy task since the purpose of this lab was to capture every single detail of this dog, with out erasing or messing anything up on her. The objective of this lab was to have a lot of patience and as well to get use to using the tools in Adobe Photoshop.

How I got to pretty much complete this lab was by using a lot of the Quick Selection Tool and the Lasso Tool. Anyhow this was related to Wed Design since in this lab we was designing as well. More then cropping and capturing this adorable doggy out, we was changing the way she looked by duplicating her a lot and using different filters on her. I did 6 different filters using the original one. Anyways I see myself using this skills whenever i feel like cropping someone out. And now i know what tools to use for me to do an excellent job.

Melon Head Lab Reflection Lab2

This is the Melon Head Lab. In this lab we had to create a face using Vegetables, in Adobe Photoshop CS6. But if your creative or felt creative you could of done whatever you wanted instead of a face. What i did pretty much was stay to making the face using the Vegetables. For the fact that in the beginning of doing this lab i was having some difficult. So i just stood to the instructions that were giving to me. The purpose of this lab was to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop CS6 and the tools in it. I had some trouble in the begging with using the tools like the Circle Marquee Tool and others, as well as the part of saving the file from PSD to JPG but then with the help of my pears i go to hang of it. Once your start using it more often is very easy to manage to be honest. These skills would help me about when doing projects like this one. But overall this was a great, fun project to do. Below you would see the work I've done for this Project.

 

LAB1 Reflection Journal.

In this Lab we did in Visual Design we had to use the picture we took in our class trip. We had to to pick 4 pictures we liked the most out of all of the pictures we took and put them as a collage. In a white piece of paper using Adobe Photoshop CS6. How i did this is by first opening Adobe Photoshop CS6 and getting a new blank white piece of paper open. Then i had to find 4 pics i liked the best and transfer it into the white piece of paper. After i was done doing that i had to make space for me to type in my name, date, and lab number. Its was pretty hard to do for me in my opinion. Using Adobe Photoshop CS6 wasn't easy. There was a lot of steps to do when doing this lab. But i overcome it but asking help to my pears and paying really close attention to my teacher. All though there is one mistake i did when printing my Lab and thats is printing my lab sideways. But yeah this is pretty much What i did and what i learned so far in this first Lab.

Definitions:

1. RAW is an image file format used by many high-end and professional digital cameras.
2. JPG is a file extension for a lossy graphics file.
3. PSD stands for Photoshop Document , is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving data.
4. GIR is the insane hyperactive robotic assistant to Zim and the closest thing the incompetent Irken has to a friend.
5. TIRP is a special technique inflorescence miscopy develop by Daniel Axelrod at the University of Michigan.
6. PNG is a file Format for image compression that in time is expected to replace the graphics interchange format. ( Portable Network Graphics)
7. BMP is a format also know as Bitmap image file and is used to store Bitmap digital images on the display device.   

VD Field Trip!

The field trip in Vd was amazing in some parts. The class had to met up on the main entrance of the school starting 7 period. Just to make sure we were all there and got marked present. Sadly as we only had 7 period to go to this trip. A time of 45 minutes, was getting shorter and shorter. Since most of our time was wasted in signing in the attendance and getting our cameras. However when we got all the done. The field trip was starting to look pretty cool. As we got our Cameras, we all where happy and anxious to start with the lesson of taking pictures in this filed trip.

Moving on we started taking pictures, of everything. Since we wasn't moving that keep us entertain. But once Mrs. Ramirez saw everything was set, we started walking. But walking really fast i regret wearing flats. Anyhow was we started walking the assignment was to take pictures of anything that catch our eyes. We ended stopping at a park and just chilling taking more pictures. Then we just when back to school since our time was ending.  Over all the trip was great and I had a lot of fun with my friend!

Rule of Thirds Hw

The Rule of Thirds is a very important tool. Also know as the "Rule of Thumb", is a guideline that helps us a lot to creative dynamic and very fun images. It applies to the process of composing visual images such as designs, films, paintings, and photographs. As well getting balanced and interesting shots when taking a picture. Its perhaps one of the best tools to use to getting awesome results when taking pictures.

   

HW Color Scheme.

 

I chose this particular color scheme because I like this particular kinds of colors. Each color represents something or someone in my life. For example the color green represents "Protection" in my religion. The color aqua (I think) is a color a like since once I saw it in a dress and in water in Miami. Blue its easy, I like that color because when I got to this country my parents painted the ceiling of my room in blue and as well I guess they knew I like looking up in the sky when I was little. I started liking purple not a long time ago. But I guess its because when you mix blue and pink you get purple. And lastly I chose the color red for the fact that is the color of love and me only still being at kid I felt in love with a guy and his favorite color was red so that reminds me a lot of him. I chose the colors are random to be honest. Then its just pot into my head all this memories and why these colors represent something in my life.

HW Marquee Tools.

There are 3 Marquee tools you can select from. Which are the rectangles, ellipses, and 1‑pixel rows and columns.The differences between the rectangular marquee tool and the elliptical marquee tool are not the much. The only differences they have is that the rectangular marquee tool lets you select rectangular shapes. Or squares when you use the shift key. Meanwhile the Ellipses Marquee tool makes the elliptical selection. Which is circles when use the shift key as well. In my preferences I'll chose to use the Rectangular marquee tool since its a normal shape you can use and for me work easy with. Other than the Ellipses Marquee tool, since it has no angles.

What is Web Desing?

Web Design is an Academy, were certain students get a change to be in it. Is a place where they teach you all about designing a website step by step. its not easy to do, That's why this academy is broken down into 3 year or learning. You learn everything about Mac and the tool and sources necessary to make a website etc. But you don't only learn that, as well you learn to manage your work. And hang your work on time and have no errors. Plus in Web design you get to have the opportunity to be a well develop person that knows how to do all this things. Its really cool and interesting and helps you a lot in life, but this is so far in my own words on what is Web Design! 

Who Am I? Why Am I Here?

I am Katherine Li Amasifen and I’m a 14 year old girl. I transferred to Information Technology High School in January. I had a great school year and I’m in the 10^th grade. I consider myself a unique and special person. Unique because I’m a mix person out of 3 different countries. One is Peru, the other Mongolia and lastly American. Being born in the U.S didn’t make English my first language. My parents spoke to me only in Spanish, which made it my first language. Now I consider myself special because of my personality. I have a really crazy personality; I can’t use any other word to describe it.

The reason why I am here is a good question. I’m in Visual Design for the purpose of learning something in life. I know this academy will help me a lot. Not only is it going to prepare for the real world. But I’m going to be learning something that I truly love and that’s technology. I really like technology, for the fact that we already live in a world where everything is about Technology. I have not learned anything about it yet. I’m only a kid who knows how to make a power point presentation. But I just don’t want to only know that. I know that I can learn so much more about Visual Design.

That’s why I am in this academy, to keep on learning about technology. And become a professional Visual Design student. That’s why I chose this program and put a lot of effort to be in it. I am really excited about being part of this team. As you said we are a family now. And I can’t wait to start learning and making good memories this year. In other words I can’t say anything else about why I am here. But I’m just very honored to be and thank you!
